Project MHISS is a study for incoming 1st years at UCLA about how the transition to college impacts mental health and what psychological and biological characteristics predict risk vs. resilience to stress and mental health difficulties throughout 1st year. Participation in the study will involve occasional blood draws and short, daily questionnaires and compensation can be up to $85 (gift card, check, or cash on Bruincard) in addition to 3 SONA credits (used for extra credit in many classes). The study will last a total of 22 days.
If you are interested in participating, please complete the short (<5 minute) screener at (XYZ link to be provided soon) The first part of the survey will be the consent form, which includes full information about the study so you can make an informed decision about whether you would like to participate. Please note that completing the screener does not require you to participate! After you complete the screener, if you are eligible, we will contact you with next steps and would be happy to ask any additional questions you may have.
